Camshaft Engineering Company has been a specialist in the regrinding of camshafts, and the refurbishment of camshaft followers and related valve train parts for over 20 years. Four Repco camshaft regrinders and various support machinery provide ample capacity for providing fast turnaround service. A wide range of reground camshafts for exchange further increases service speed. Profile masters covering over 2000 engine applications from the 1920's onwards are available so that almost every camshaft presented can be ground with minimum delay.
Being specialists, the company and staff have become highly proficient and knowlegable in its operations, so that reliable quality of service is achieved with competitive pricing. A regular program of machine overhaul and improvement has ensured that quality capability has been improved to meet the more exacting requirements of modern day engine camshafts, particularly in base circle concentricity and lobe finish. These factors allowed the achievement of Quality Endorsed Company status in 1995 with minimal changes to methods or systems.
Our Camshaft Regrinding Procedures have been established to assist the engine fitter. For instance, in engine applications without mechanical adjustment for tappet clearance (non adjustable engines) all lobes are ground to a common base circle diameter. The undersize is nominated on the Job Tag and is traceable to our stored quality records. Strict limits on lobe undersize prevent potential for reduced durability due to insufficient hardness layer thickness.
