Special radiusing fixtures have been designed and built for the accurate restoration of radiused cam follower contact pads. Many of these in modern motorcycle designs rely on a thin (.025-.050mm) flash chrome surface coating. Camshaft Engineering recover failed followers of this type by radius grinding the pad, applying a fused hard facing material, then regrinding to original profile leaving a hard face layer 0.5mm thickness.
