Caterpillar, Cummins, MAN, Mercedes, MWM, Scania, Volvo, camshafts are
regularly reground to the manufacturer's specifications. This includes maintaining common base
circles on the injector lobes of certain engines to assist in
setting of spill timing on subsequent engine re-assembly.
Cam followers are refaced in a machine especially redesigned for the
larger diameters usually involved. Roller followers are serviced either by
dismantling and regrinding the rollers, (parallel, or profiled diameter)
or fitting replacement rollers and pins.
